About us...
We chose to spread awareness in our community over first aid because of the great importance of it in daily life. As teenagers, we have been witness to many small injuries, but also larger ones that we have seen through the media. Rather than being helpless in an emergency situation, we find it important to ensure that everyone has at least somewhat of an understanding of how to handle a medical issue of either small or large significance. We ultimately decided on first aid as our topic because we realized how little awareness has been spread over the issue.
Our Goal
Our goals for this project are vast, but most center on spreading awareness of the importance of first aid knowledge to all classes of our community. From what to include in a first aid kit to how to handle an emergency situation, we hope to provide some insight into how first aid basics can be helpful in all circumstances. Informational brochures, webinars, and outreach programs will be used to educate others on how to properly utilize first aid. Another objective of ours is to partner with organizations in our area such as Red Cross and the local MRC that specialize in first aid to help reach a broader range of the community from adults to children of all ages. We hope to educate our local neighborhoods, schools, and clubs about the significance of having a deeper understanding of first aid knowledge.
Community Partners
Throughout this entire project we have partnered with various organizations to help us educate others in our community about the importance of first aid and CPR. We partnered up with our local BETA, HOSA, and Red Cross clubs and administration, as well as our community library and parks. Additionally we were able to partner up with The American Heart Association and CPR Training School. We were also able to partner with Girl Scouts and Next Generation Focus to help educate children of all ages, 6-15, on the importance of first aid and CPR in our daily lives. Overall, our partnerships helped foster a stronger outreach program, as we were able to reach a wider audience for the campaign.
